Whitworth wins at Woodsome

Andrew Whitworth justified strong favouritism to win Tuesday's Halifax, Huddersfield & District Union's Seniors Championship at Woodsome Hall.

Bradley Hall’s Whitworth, newly qualified in the seniors ranks, shot a 76 to win by two shots from home club player Steve Selbie with several previous winners of the title behind.

Whitworth has won the Union’s individual stroke play championship a record 11 times since 1983 and still plays off a handicap of one.
