John Parry made the cut for a fourth successive European Tour event but reduced his pay packet with a five-over par final round at the Nordea Masters.

Parry continued his fine form heading into next week’s US Open as he finished in a tie for 50th place in Malmo.

After opening rounds of 71, 72 and 69, the Knaresborough golfer was in prime position for a charge up the leaderboard on the final day.

However, for a third event in a row Parry carded his worst round of the lot on the fourth day with a 77.

Sweden’s Alex Noren won the £250,000 event on 12 under par, four shots ahead of Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen.

Parry’s tied-50th finish pocketed him a cheque for € 6,450 and moved him to 447th in the world rankings and 81st in the Race to Dubai.
