Calderdale told to be prepared as flood alert is issued for part of the borough

The EA is warning that flooding is possible in the Upper River Calder catchment area.
A spokesperson for the EA said; "River levels are starting to respond as a result of rainfall today.

Hide Ad"Further rainfall is forecast through today and into the early hours of tomorrow morning.
"We expect river levels to continue to rise peaking between 6am and 8am tomorrow morning.
"Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible from today until midday tomorrow.
"Areas most at risk are low lying land and roads. We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident room is open.
"Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and avoid contact with flood water."
