Sauciness and sequins will soon be making the Calder Valley a steamy talking point again when Hebden Bridge Burleque Festival returns to three towns for a four-day extravanganza between Thursday, April 30, and Sunday, May 3.

As well as shows at a number of venues in Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd, there are a number of workshops and a burlesque fair, for those taking part in the risque business!

Tickets for performances and entry to workshops at the festival are now available on the festival website - - where full details about each workshop and event can be found.

On Thursday, April 30, the festival opens when Kiki Deville and special guests star at Mytholmroyd Community Centre with an evening of live swing, smooth jazz and rocking rockabilly music from 8pm - this event is a charity fundraiser.

Friday, May 1, gives audiences the chance to see potential burlesque stars compete in Legend In The Making from 7.30pm at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre, hosted by Hebden’s own Heidi Bang Tidy. At 10.30pm the venue hosts the festival’s Late Night Cabaret from 10.30pm, billed as “not for the faint-hearted” and potential festivalgoers should note that by definition it features events which are adult in nature.

Saturday, May 2, is a busy day, with many workshops. From 11am there will be a Burlesque Bazaar at Mytholmroyd Community Centre. At 2pm at the Hippodrome Theatre, Halifax Road, Todmorden, Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School is an art class where you can draw or paint artistes from 2pm.

Then at 8pm comes “the biggest show of the weekend”, also at the Hippodrome, the Hebden Bridge Burlesque Gala, hosted by Lili La Scala and featuring Vicky Butterfly, Russell Bruner, Violet Blaze and more.

Sunday, May 3, events include The Tricity Vogue All Girl Swing band at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre (2pm). The venue then hosts the closing night finale at 8pm - T’ Blooming Marvellous Variety Show.
