’Memories from the Musicals’

Victoria Theatre, Halifax

Halifax Amateur Operatic Society has presented many fine shows over the years - and members will re-visit a selection of the best in the spectacular gala concert ‘Memories of the Musicals’ on April 27 and 28.

Featuring talented local performers and musicians, the group will embrace the magic of such shows as ‘Hairspray’, ‘Ghost’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Chess’, ‘Titanic’, and many more.

With a cast of more than 100 performers, including an on-stage choir and orchestra, the celebration of musical theatre aims to wow audiences old and new.

Paul Addy, chairman of HAOS Productions, said: “With our new show, it’s all about taking a look back at some of our great productions and bringing them to life all at the same time. It has also allowed us to bring together a large number of our members, in the on-stage choir and ensemble, including our junior

group.

“We are really excited about presenting ‘Memories’ to the people of Calderdale and beyond.”

Society members are now hard at work rehearsing for the show and are looking forward to a fun evening.

Halifax AOS was founded in 1902 and over the years has presented many of the musical theatre world’s best-loved shows including ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘Cabaret’, ‘Carousel’, ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ and ‘Oliver’. In 2016 the society presented ‘Rock of Ages’ and last year it was ‘Anything Goes’.

HAOS Productions is now a charity dedicated to bringing high-quality shows to the Calderdale stage.

The society provides musical theatre training for interested performers aged eight upwards.

‘Memories of the Musicals’ will be at the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, on Friday, April 27 at 7.30pm and Saturday, April 28 at 5.30pm. For tickets tel 01422 351158 or visit victoriatheatre.co.uk
