Calder Valley Youth theatre were delighted with the number of young people who turned up to their first get-together ahead of their Big Spring Concert.

Adrian Horton, of CVYT, said: “Thank you to everybody who came along last night for our first get together for our Big Spring Concert.

“We had nearly 50 children aged from eight to 18 turn up and we heard some terrific singing, piano playing and dancing.

“We are going to have one heck of a show!”

People are asked to return their forms and subscription through this week to secure their place at the Big Spring Concert.

“If you were in Starlight Express, no subscription is needed because you are already members,” said Adrian.

“Primary school children will rehearse on Fridays and Secondary aged children will rehearse on Tuesdays.

“Both nights will begin at 7.15pm sharp. We hope to finish between 9pm and 9.30pm. We will eventually get together on Sundays nearer the time to put it all together.”

The show takes place on March 27 and 28 at The Ted Hughes Theatre, Calder High School, Mytholmroyd.
