With television viewers in a spin with the BBC’s show The Great Pottery Throwdown, a local art group has already got some new students at the wheel with more courses planned for the new year.

So if you plan giving your skills a whirl, you might like to follow in the footsteps of the students who enrolled on the Tod Studios course which started this autumn.

John Andreae, one of the artists based at Tod Studios, which is at Stansfield Road, Todmorden, said: “The pottery course has gone very well, with six students, and we are in fact adding on a couple of extra sessions following the initial six students to enable the students to extend their skills.

“We are hoping to continue with more courses and workshops in the new year - certainly some of the current students are keen on coming back next year to attend an ongoing workshop.

“Although we haven’t fixed any dates as yet, anyone interested - and we anticipate there may be a number who have been inspired by the BBC Pottery Throwdown! - could contact me on 07789264770.”
