Holders Triangle fell at the first hurdle in the Halifax Parish Cup on a sun-kissed Sunday.

They lost by 65 runs at Warley with Graham Kinsey hitting his second ton of the season against the Grassy Bottom side.

The South African’s first counted for little in an abandoned game but his hard-hit 101 on Sunday, before being run out, helped the hosts post 237.

Ben Atkinson made 40 and Greg Keywood 39, Warley recovering from 73 for four.

Trangle responded in typical attacking fashion but lost wickets steadily and fell well short, Tom Fryer top scorer with 49.

Results went very much to the form book.

Half-centuries from Imran Mirza and Wayne Cotton helped champions and league leaders Jer Lane ease to a six-wicket win over Cullingworth.

Booth beat Old Crossleyans by eight wickets while SBCI won by the same margin at Southowram, where Robin Hanson took five wickets and young Henry Lamper four with his leg spin to dismiss the hosts for 84.

Sowerby Bridge were on top from the start against Bradshaw, a 171-run opening stand between Josh Wood (106) and Tim Helliuwell (56) setting them up for a 150-run win.

Adie Gawthrope, back at Sowerby St Peter’s, made 103 not out and took four for 27 as his side overcame a potential banana skin against Bridgeholme, who are going well in Division One.

Denholme Clough’s Asif Mohammed (147 no against Outlane) and Great Horton PC’s Waseem Chaudhry (117 against Oxenhope) helped their teams make progress.

There was some respite for Northowram HT, struggling in the Premier, with Kier Litjens (95) and Adam Stocks (82) helping them to a winning 326 for three against Luddenden Foot.

Queensbury were wide-margin winners against Stones thanks to Bradley Gerrard-Harrison’s 86 not out and Amajad Ali’s six for eight.
