Hebden Bridge beat Huddersfield Sleepers by five wickets at Salem Fields in a game which had plenty to recommend it - 15 bowlers used and 25 sixes!

Sleepers raced to 80 off none off 10 overs but Massey broke the partnership and the run rate gradually decreased as wickets fell.

Joey Howell took a smart catch and runs saved in the field proved decisive later as the hosts chased a stiff target of 223 off 35 overs.

Hussain and Ward made a cautious start before accelerating to 100 for one off 18 overs. Hussain’s 53 retired included four sixes and Ward was caught on 45 going for more quick runs.

A crowd-pleasing 50 from Tranmer helped seal victory, Massey hitting the winning shot into the river with two overs to spare.

The Funday cricket spectacular is at Salem Fields on Saturday, May 30 (11am). There will be food, stalls, competitions and music.
