Rebekah Tiler, who lives in Denholme but trains at Mytholmroyd Community Centre, was in tremendous form at the British Youths Weightlifting Championship last weekend.
The event was held in Glasgow and Tiler, who is coached by Eddie Halstead, smashed a couple of British records.
Lifting in the 69kg section on Saturday, she snatched 90kg, then 94 and then 96 which is a British under 23 record .
She then clean and jerked 115 kg, then 120 and then 124 to post a British record for all ages up to senior.
The senior record is held by Michaela Breeze and Rebekah matched Breeze’s best total with 220 kg.
She came first overall and won the trophy for the best performance by a female under 17 .
Her team mate Marcus Collins from Brighouse came second overall, just missing out on victory as he was heavier than his main rival. He snatched 90kg and set a clean and jerk pb of 116kg.
