Handball: Hands-on to support charity day

HEBDEN Bridge Handball Club is doing its bit to support the Sports Relief charity.

Friday, 12th March 2010, 1:50 pm

It is holding the first Upper Calder Valley Mini Handball Festival to help raise funds, the event taking place on Saturday March 20 from 2-4pm at Calder High School gym.

Teams of five from primary schools can play two or three mini matches of five minutes each.

Cost is 2.50 per player and members of the club are inviting their friends along and to have some fun as well as raising money for Sport Relief.

They are also inviting adults to enter teams with teachers and parents welcome to join in - no experience is necessary.

There will also be ball skills challenges for teams to win more points and prizes on the day, prizes for teams and individuals who come in the best fancy dress costume (sporting legends/favourite bands/or just very silly is the theme).

Teams need to fill in the registration form which can be found on the club's new blog www.hebdenbridgehandball.wordpress.com and return it via email to: [email protected] as soon as possible.
