Midgley United are the early leaders in the Halifax AFL Premier Division following wins in their opening two games.

Up next for Craig Gee’s men is a visit from Shelf FC. This will be a close affair with Shelf keen to bounce back after their defeat last week. Both sides could well title contenders.

Sowerby Bridge are another side that commands respect in the title race. Prolific goal scorer Remi Allen will add more strength to their squad following his transfer from Calder 76.

Shelf United will be hoping to follow up last week’s good win by taking the points from the meeting with AFC Crossleys, but that may not be easy.

Northowram opened their account in their last outing which will have boosted confidence ahead of the game with Hebden Royd Red Star.

The top two in the First Division meet with Hebden Royd Red Star Res having home advantage against leaders Ivy House.

St Columbas take on Calder 76 in what could be a tight game whilst Illingworth St Marys may just have the edge against Shelf United Res.

AFC Crossleys Res have the look of a good side. They host Greetland Res in a meeting of sides with 100 per cent records.

Warley Rangers had a fine win last week and will travel to Sowerby United Res with high hopes. Calders 76 Res face Shelf FC Res and neither side have been at their best so far.
