An Aaron Martin hat-trick ensured Brighouse Town finished a difficult season on a real high yesterday.
Town made it four wins in a row with a 3-0 success at Droylsden, their sixth victory from eight Evo-Stik North games in April.
Having been next-to-bottom of the table for long enough and fearing the drop, Brighouse have five teams below them in the final table.
All Martin’s goals came after he went through one-on-one with the home keeper.
The first and third, after 43 minutes and two minutes into stoppage time at the end, came from long balls over the home defence.
The striker’s second, ob 73 minutes, followed a great pass from Gabby Johnson.
Martin has finished sixth in the division’s scoring charts with 18 goals.
