Championship 2013/14 fixtures: The big dates for Leeds United and Huddersfield Town

The Terriers travel to Elland Road on Saturday February 1.

Leeds host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, August 17 in one of several games at Elland Road likely to be switched from 3pm on police orders.

United travel to Hillsborough for the return game on Saturday January 11. The encounter was a fractious one last season. There was crowd trouble during the televised Friday night game, with one Leeds fan entering the field of play and pushing Wednesday keeper Chris Kirkland to the ground.

Leeds boss Brian McDermott travels back to old side Reading on Tuesday, September 17. And the Whites make the annual trip to the New Den to face Millwall on Saturday September 28.

Leeds are yet again on the road on Boxing Day. This time it’s a trip to the seaside to face Blackpool. Huddersfield host Derby on the same day.

The Whites face Barnsley at bogey ground Oakwell on Saturday April 19. They finish their campaign against another bogey club, Derby, at Elland Road.

Huddersfield will entertain Harry Redknapp’s QPR for their first home match, on August 10.

Former boss Lee Clark is back at the John Smiths Stadium on Saturday November 9.

The Terriers are away at Bolton on Tuesday December 3 and travel to Burnley on New year’s Day.

Barnsley return to West Yorkshire for a repeat of the match that saw both sides secure their Championship status on the final day of last term. Town finish off their campaign away to Watford this time out.
