FC Halifax Town: Supporters Club launch fundraising drive for Shaymen

"One of the Supporters Club's stated objectives is to raise funds for FC Halifax Town, and as such, we have a number of regular initiatives which enable us to achieve this.

"Unfortunately, for obvious reasons we are unable to undertake our usual activities at the current time.

"We are aware that Halifax Town do well to break even financially in normal circumstances, and it is obvious that the continuing delay to the 2019/20 season will have a detrimental effect on the club's finances.

"As things stand, the burden of any shortfall will inevitably fall on the shoulders of a few individuals, and the Supporters Club wish to demonstrate that the many FCHT fans out there continue to care passionately about the club they follow.

"For the duration of the current restrictions on social distancing, we have decided to give fans of the Shaymen the opportunity to show their support of FCHT by making donations via the Supporters Club.

"Individuals can contribute one-off amounts through the "gofundme" website, details of which can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/halifax-town-supporters-club

"While we haven't set a specific target, the Supporters Club will experience an estimated shortfall of around £5,000 up to the scheduled start of the 2020/21 season, so it would be nice if we could come somewhere near to that figure.

"We are attempting to give our regular contributors the chance to help us during our "absence", and extending an invitation to all fans to reiterate their sterling support, for which we sincerely thank them in advance."

FC Halifax Town said: "We're extremely grateful to the supporters' club for this gesture and appreciate all their efforts through this difficult period.

"All the money raised will certainly help us through this enforced break in the season."
