Illingworth will be runners-up

Illingworth go into the last game of the season at home to Woodhouse next weekend knowing that they will finish second in the Aire/Wharfe League’s Division Three after rain prevented a winner away to leaders Horsforth yesterday.

Illingworth had hoped to reduce the 28 point gap between the teams, meaning the title race would be taken into the final game of the season, but it wasn’t to be.

With the game reduced to 43 overs before play commenced, big spending Horsforth were 101 for one off 25 overs when play was washout out.
