Your memories of the 1960s

After seeing our previous picture spread of your 1960’s photos, Stuart sent us some charming snaps of him and his wife Joan, who live in Hipperholme.

The couple were married at St Matthews Church in Lightcliffe on March 25, 1961 and celebrated their emerald wedding anniversary last month.

The ‘60s event takes place on April 23 and 24 and is the brain-child of The Brighouse Business Initiative, which is also respinsible for the hugely-successful 1940s weekend in the town.

Featuring headline 1960s acts, alongside the best in local and regional musicians, the event, which has never been held in Brighouse before, also includes a showcase of classic 1960s cars, memorabilia, 1960s hairdos and fancy dress, as well as the Spring market and children’s rides.

It is free to enter and the events will be held at various locations around the town over the weekend.
