The aim of the day was to highlight activities that local libraries across the district could offer and see the joy that a Library membership can bring.

Brighouse Library had something for all including a “Characters from Literature” fancy dress competition, a “Where’s Wally” treasure hunt and Rob Dimbleby also went along for story telling sessions with the children.

The Woolly Hat poet, Ben Guilfoyle also read and performed with the Libraries poetry group and an evening of song was put on by Aidan Edwards & Juliet Montgomery later on. All these events were put on in association with The friends of the Rydings.

Linda Freeman, Libraries Team Leader, said “We’re really pleased how the day went, there’s clearly a lot of love for libraries out there!”
