The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Calderdale.

The yellow “be aware” warning predicts that the snow will stoop at some point this afternoon and turn to ice.

The warning, which is valid until 12 noon tomorrow (Thursday) says driving conditions will become hazardous.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “Outbreaks of sleet and snow, especially over higher ground, will slowly die out through Wednesday afternoon and evening but will leave the hazard of icy surfaces on Wednesday night.

“The public should be aware of the continued risk of disruption to transport due to ice and snow.”
