Busy start to May for rescue team

Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team (CVSRT) had a busy start to May, receiving four requests to help find missing people in West Yorkshire and Lancashire.

The first call to the Mytholmroyd-based team came on May 7 and related to a missing vulnerable male. Twenty seven team members and two dogs carried out an extensive search of North Dean Woods and the surrounding areas of Greetland. Although the team was stood down they later received confirmation the man had been found safe and well.

The second request on May 8, concerning a vulnerable missing person, came from Oldham Mountain Rescue Team. Enquiries are ongoing.

The third request on May 9 turned out to be a hoax.

The final call was to help find missing Bradford woman Anita Racz on May 11. Twenty one team members attended woodland in Bingley and a body was recovered. The team passes on its condolences.
