Todmorden has missed out on a prestigious award.
The town was named as a finalist in the 2017 Urbanism Awards, going up against Blackpool and Clonakilty, Ireland, in the ‘Great Town’ category,
At an awards ceremony held last night (Wednesday) Clonakilty was named the winner, but judges said the town faced strong competition.
Run by The Academy of Urbanism, the aim of the awards is to recognise the best, most enduring or most improved urban environments.
A panel of judges visited the town earlier in the month as part of the process.
