Ten face court on fraud charges

A LUDDENDEN Foot man was one of ten people who have appeared in court charged with conspiring to commit fraud by false representation.

Stephen Baldwin, 51, of Pleasant View, Luddenden Foot; Richard Ingham, 49, of Hastings Way, Halifax; Mark Jowett, 37, of Bishopdale Court, Halifax; Stephen Watson, 31, of Granny Hall Park in Brighouse, Michael Hammond, 26, of Emscote Avenue in Halifax, Stephen Ormston, 45, of Catherine Street in Elland; Gareth Ott, 29, of Heath Gardens, Halifax; Lee Richardson 27, of Plane Tree Cottage, Wainstalls, Halifax, Wesley Watson, 30, of Warley Road, Halifax and Raja Yasin, 32, of Craven Edge, Halifax, all appeared before Calderdale magistrates.

The men are charged with conspiring to commit fraud by obtaining payment of travelling expenses, intending to cause loss to, or to defraud the Department of Work and Pensions, between 21 June 2010 and 31 May 2011.

The case was committed to Crown Court and they were all scheduled to appear before a judge in Bradford.
