Robber shouts his way through Halifax Mecca Bingo and flees with cash

A man burst into a Mecca Bingo hall and stole cash before fleeing.

Police are appealing for information after the incident at the hall in Broad Street, Halifax, between 7.30pm and 7.35pm yesterday (Tuesday).

The culprit went in through the main entrance and shouted at staff and the public to get back.

He then stole money from the till before running from the building.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged 25-30 years old, around 6ft tall, of skinny build and wearing dark clothes.

PC Hellawell, of Calderdale CID, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the Broad Street area around the time that this robbery has happened who saw a man matching the suspect’s description entering or leaving the bingo hall or otherwise acting suspiciously.
