Major essential maintenance work in Hebden Bridge is on schedule to finish before next week, Calderdale Council says.
More than £200,000 worth of work has been carried out on the A646 Market Street and Bridge Lanes.The full carriageway has been resurfaced, all existing road markings have been replaced and ironwork has been adjusted or renewed. Mark Thompson, Calderdale Council’s director of economy and environment, said: “The road works in the centre of Hebden Bridge are currently on schedule and depending on weather conditions, should be completed this week. About a third of the surfacing is already finished and the remaining should be completed by Thursday, November 5. Weather permitting, road marking should start on Wednesday night, with an estimated completion date of Saturday, November 7.”
