At the latest meeting of the Hebden Royd Probus Club 18 members were welcomed by the vice-president, Mr Robert Huck.

The speaker was Mr Roger Benn of the Travelcentre/Whitesands Travel of Mytholmroyd, writes Geoffrey Greenwood.

After a career in the Police force, he became chair of the Police Federation, taking groups to visit police forces worldwide.

On retirement he took on the agency business of the Accord union for the Halifax Bank of Scotland, Santander and Nationwide.

He gave us a very interesting talk, and brought along various drinks from around the world for members to sample.

Unfortunately members did not have time to sample everything, so Roger promised to return with tales from his travels.

The vote of thanks was given by Mr Kevin Jennings.

New members are welcome to come along and join in the meetings
