White Windows is owned by Valorum Care Ltd, who also own Alexander House and Fernside Hall in Halifax.

They say that, after conducting their own assessments, and following those of the Clinical Commissioning Group, no residents at White Windows require a nursing home placement.

Tom Parramore, Group Chief Operating Officer at Valorum Care said: “No-one will need to leave their home as a result of this change.

“No residents have been told that they have to leave. Our nursing staff will be moving to another one of our homes.

“We have been explaining the change to residents and their families and would be happy to meet any relatives who have any questions or concerns about the changes.”

Calderdale Council’s Director for Adults and Wellbeing, Iain Baines said: “Protecting vulnerable residents is a priority for both the Council and NHS Calderdale CCG.

“We are working with Valorum, White Windows residents and their families to ensure that they continue to receive the care and support that they need.

“White Windows transferred ownership to Valorum Healthcare at the end of November 2019. Following a review, they informed the Council and CCG that they intended to change the registration of White Windows from a nursing home to a residential care home, effective from March 2020.

“The Council, together with NHS Calderdale CCG, is currently undertaking a clinical and social care assessment of all the residents at White Windows to make sure that their care and support needs can be appropriately met.”

The home, which was previously owned by Leonard Cheshire Disability, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2016.
