Sarah Bagley, 27, who works for RSPCA Halifax and Huddersfield, will push her body to the limit in a three day ‘ultra triathlon’challenge.

Starting with a two-mile swim in Lake Windemere, on June 12, Sarah, who lives in Keighley, will then travel to Cumbria ahead of a 140-mile coast to coast cycle from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. If that wasn’t enough, Sarah will finish off her three day challenge with an 18-mile run, from Tynemouth.

Sarah hopes to raise as much money as possible for the local and national animal rescue charity.

She said: “People don’t realise that we rely one hundred per cent on donations - we don’t get any government funding. In times of austerity, giving to charity can be the first thing to go and we’re finding it more and more tough to do the job we love.”

Sarah says the best thing about her job is rescuing an animal from a neglected home and placing it with a new loving family.
