Letter: Turn building into a facility for the homeless
I watched a programme on TV called “Homeless, hungry and on benefits”. This programme showed some councils re-vamping derelict buildings for the homeless.
The old Canal Dying building springs to mind for the homeless people in Halifax and it would be feasible, it’s several storeys not anywhere close to residents so no-one should moan. And the new residents of this building could actually help to renovate it.

Give these unfortunate people a purpose, give them a choice in life, some will grasp this opportunity. Some probably won’t but with help and direction and purpose most will welcome this proposed development.
I say proposed because I propose that the council/social services help Halifax get the homeless people off the streets and at the same time make use of our derelict and dangerous buildings.
Give the homeless a purpose in life.
