Ninety entries received for photography competition

The focus was put on the Calder Valley in the Hebden Bridge Times/Todmorden News and McCarthy & Stone Photography Competition.

Ninety entries were received from all around Calderdale.

The photographs encompassed the beautiful valley and its heritage.

We now need YOU to help us find the top photographer - giving him or her the chance to win £350 and be published on the wall of a new Hebden Bridge Retirement Living Development.

There will be three rounds of voting and the shortlist will be narrowed down from 90 to ten in the first round.

The first round of voting will be done through email and post, using the attached voting form.

Following this, the shortlist will be announced on our websites - and - on November 24 at noon.

Online voting will then take place.

Entrants may share their photographs on their social media to get votes but this will be monitored by the amount of shares recorded on our website. Comments and ‘likes’ on an individual’s Facebook will not be counted, as we cannot monitor them.

The shortlist of ten will be narrowed down to six and a voting panel will judge and award the prizes to the first, second and third place entrants.

Start your email with the name of the photographer and the three-digit number of the photograph.

Follow this with your name.

The deadline for receipt of entries is November 21, 2014, at 5pm.

You can vote as many times as you like, but you must use an official vote coupon from the paper.

Photocopied or defaced coupons will not be accepted.
