Today will be cold, wet and windy, with strong southeasterly winds and persistent heavy rain during the morning.

Winds will ease during the afternoon, mainly in the west, and rain will eventually become lighter and move eastwards, but lingering near the coast. Maximum Temperature 11C.

Tonight most places will become dry and cold inland with light winds, leading to low cloud, mist and fog patches. Chance of a few showers overnight, especially later in the night. Minimum Temperature 3C.

There are some minor delays on Whitehall Road but traffic is moving eastbound to the M62 junction.
