Missing pensioner found with the help of Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team

A missing pensioner was found safe and well last night (Tuesday) with the help of the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team.

Trevor Lynch, 78, of Barnoldswick, had been missing since 10pm on Monday evening.

A full team callout was issued and all vehicles were deployed to assist with the search.

At around 9pm, a member of public alerted alerted the team to the missing male in farmland next to their property.

A team doctor assessed the casualty, before he was taken to hospital.

In a separate incident, the team also assisted in the rescue of an eight-year-old girl who had fallen 50ft from rocks in Otley Chevin.

The team were called out at just before 2pm yesterday to the scene and assisted the ambulance crew and HART team.

The girl was taken to hospital but a spokesperson for the team said she was “miraculously” unhurt.
