Old Town Primary School are hosting their biennial summer fair this Saturday , June 13, where there will be traditional fun for all the family.
Proceedings commence at 11am when the fair will be officially opened by Bob and Yvonne Stubbs from the village Post Office, who will then judge the “Best Tasting Cake” and “Best Decorated Cake” competitions, along with the children’s decorated bun competition.
There will be many activities on offer including tombolas, bottle pull, roll a penny, human stocks and archery.
The school’s Gardening Club will be selling their home grown plants and recipe boxes.
In the field adjacent to the school will be pony rides, guess the name of the goat and weight of the sheep.
Refreshments on offer include, barbecue, tuck shop and cakes, the latter will be sold after cake judging has taken place.
The day concludes at 3pm with an egg throwing competition - for anyone brave enough to take part!
Cahir of the school’s PTA, Claudette Roberts, said: “Old Town Primary School is a 30 minute stroll from the centre of Hebden Bridge, with beautiful views over the valley.
“You are guaranteed a warm welcome with plenty of activities for children of all ages.
“All funds raised will go towards resources, day trips and residentials for the pupils.”
