Rush hour drivers faced severe problems this morning after a lorry caught fire on the M62 near Brighouse.
The blaze between junction 26 Chain Bar and junction 27 Gildersome broke out around 7am prompting the closure of the east bound carriageway of the motorway.
Emergency services were being helped at the scene by Highways England who urged road users to plan ahead, allowing plenty of extra time to travel and to consider alternative routes where possible.
Meanwhile there were problems on the M62 between Outlane junction 23 and Ripponden junction 22 following an accident around 7.30am. One lane was shut of the westbound carriageway causing more disruption and queues back to junction 24 Ainley Top.
