The annual event marks a celebration to raise awareness of the people who worked in the armed forces and allows the public to show support for veterans.
Mayors secretary, Sue Hanson, said: “It is a way of saying thank you the Armed Forces and a way of recognising them past, present and future.
The service at the minister was led by the Curate Matthew Hunter and included readings of the new and old testiments from Mayor of Calderdale and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant.
David Simon, lecturer at Halifax Minister, preached at the event.
He said: “The service went very well. We had about one hundred people attend and the readings were about working towards peace.”
