Hebden Bridge Partnership is hoping to do its bit to encourage people to visit the area with a new edition of its guide.
Bob Deacon, of Hebden Bridge Partnership, says the Welcome to Hebden Bridge 2016 visitor leaflet is more important than ever.
In a year when the town needs to restore its visitor economy after the dreadful floods this leaflet will be an asset in the hands of visitors, showing them what’s on, where to go and and be an encouragement to others elsewhere in the region to visit, he said.
The leaflet lists 15 major town events and festivals starting with the Duck Race, Piano, Burlesque and Folk Roots Festival and ending with a CAMRA festival in the autumn. This year’s publication has extra pages including one on the walking and cycling opportunities here. It is partly funded by Hebden Royd Town Council, and by advertisers.
It says: “The majority of shops, cafes, pubs and services which were flooded are reopening. And so much remains unchanged. Our 2016 calendar is packed full of festivals and events and we’ve added an ‘alternative Christmas’ on the sixth month anniversary of the floods – June 25.”
