Free training for health staff
Voluntary Action Calderdale is looking for people with strong community links to join the Engagement Champions scheme, which enables them to participate in discussions about changes to health services and represent others.
The training, which is available in Halifax, Todmorden and Elland, helps health professionals and volunteers deal with the public. Members of organisations such as Disability Support Calderdale have already completed the courses.

David Naylor, from Disability Support Calderdale, has been an engagement champion since 2013.
“The training has helped everyone at Disability Support re-evaluate their engagement skills with the public and has given our organisation new opportunities for funding and research,” he said.
