Hebden Bridge named in UK's top 25 most beautiful locations in new research

With staycations set to be more popular than ever in the UK, Daffodil Hotel has revealed the UK’s most beautiful escapes.

The research ranked over 70 towns and villages on factors including number of attractions, number of beauty spots, number of hills and mountain ranges, instagrammability (number of hashtags), number of heritage spots and number of green spaces.

Hebden Bridge ranked in 20th place, with an overall score of 29.38, as a result of its 10 mountains and hills, one heritage location and six beauty spots.

Topping the list was Keswick in Cumbria with a score of 70.59 followed by Whitby in North Yorkshire with a score of 63.97.

Explaining the method a spokesperson said: "We took a seed list of the most beautiful towns and villages in the UK from loveexploring.com and countryliving.com, and then gathered data on a number of different factors.

"Instagramability was taken from the number of photos uploaded using each location’s relevant hashtag on Instagram, the number of attractions, green spaces, and beauty spots were taken from Trip Advisor, and heritage spots in the county and number of mountains and hills in the county were both taken from Wikipedia.

"Any towns or villages where we were unable to find complete data were removed before ranking."
