Five weeks of traffic misery for commuters in the Calder Valley is set to end this weekend.
For five weeks Yorkshire Water have been undergoing major work on the A646 at Luddenden Foot to replace a water main which has been subject to leaks.
Before that, ongoing gas main replacement by United Utilities had also led to tailbacks, particularly at peak commuting times.
But this week a Yorkshire Water spokesperson said the work was due to be finished on schedule.
“It is due nto finish on December 14, on schedule,” she said.
Work began on November 10 by engineering specialists, Morrison Utility Services.
