Video: Attempted robbery of a 94-year-old woman in Heckmondwike
Police have released CCTV footage of a female suspect they are trying to identify after the attempted robbery at around 2pm on Friday May 15.
The victim was approached from behind by a young female who grabbed hold of her handbag and tried to take it from her.

Hide AdThe elderly lady kept hold of her bag and there was a struggle in which she was pulled to the floor.
Detective Constable Richard Brooke of Kirklees CID said: “The incident happened on the footpath that leads from Heckmondwike town centre to Morrisons supermarket.
“The CCTV footage shows the suspect walking in front of the victim on Croft Street as they head towards the footpath where the incident took place.
“The suspect is described as being about 20-years-old, around 5ft 6ins tall and of slim or medium build.

Hide Ad“She has long dark wavy hair which was tied back at the time and was described as having blotchy skin and wide eyes.
“We hope that this CCTV footage will jog someone’s memory and we urge anyone with information about this suspect, or any other information about the incident, to ring 101 or the Crimestoppers charity, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
