Unmarked police car captures careless and speeding Calderdale drivers

On January 23 between officers from the Halifax neighbourhood Policing team patrolled Gibbet Street, Hanson Lane, Queens Road and Hopwood Lane utilising an unmarked police vehicle with video recording capability.

Within the times the Officers captured footage of a number of vehicles driving at excessive speed, aggravated by the fact the roads were icy due to the cold weather, including one vehicle which was captured overtaking a number of vehicles at speed on Gibbet Street.

In total eight Notice of Intended Prosecutions have been served through the post to registered keepers / insured parties for Careless Driving.

The NPT said they will continue to patrol the areas of concern in both marked and unmarked Police vehicles.
