Tickets issued to speedsters in 20mph zone

Speedsters have been issued with tickets after they were caught breaking the limit by police officers in Calderdale's 20mph zones.

PCSO Charlotte Westby conducted an operation on March 30 with PC Brimelow, Safer Roads and Neighbourhoods Officer, in the Siddal and Southowram area.

They were paying attention to the 20mph areas and also prohibited vehicles driving on Pinner Lane, an access only route.

This was after concerns had been raised by local residents.

The officers issued five tickets for speeding and two for using a prohibited access only route.

They also seized a vehicle which was speeding in a 20mph zone on Bank Top and when checked was found to be uninsured.
