Thieves are stealing Yorkshire stone from the gardens of homes in Calderdale.

The Calderdale Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team is raising awareness about the spike in the thefts.

Residents are reporting the theft of Yorkshire stone paving slabs from gardens in the Clifton area of Brighouse.

Yorkshire stone thefts have happened in Clifton, Brighouse

A spokesperson for the neighbourhood policing team said: "The slabs were taken late evening or during the night of March 3 and 4.

"Offences so far reported at addresses on Clifton Common, Victoria Street and Alegar Street.

"Please be vigilant and if you see anything suspicious please report it."
