Hide AdBrighouse watch commander Nigel Dodd said that led to a number of other fires in the town centre.
Mr Dodd said: “It was fortunate that there was a high wall behind the trade union building which prevented the fire from spreading to the building.
“That led to a series of bin fires in Brighouse town centre. The police dealt with them and they’re looking at the CCTV.”
It is thought the fires were started deliberately.
