Halifax explosion - police confirm 'joint investigation' with Health and Safety Executive

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed they are conducting a 'joint investigation' into a family home explosion in Halifax.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have also confirmed the investigation collaboration into the explosion in Green Lane, Illingworth, on Saturday morning.

West Yorkshire Police also confirmed they are conducting a ‘joint investigation’ with the HSE.

Also involved in the investigation are the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, which said there was ‘no update on the cause yet, but investigations are ongoing.

A police spokeswoman said: “We’re conducting a joint investigation with the HSE.

“Enquiries are ongoing by the Police and the Health and Safety Executive.”

A HSE spokesperson said: “HSE is assisting with the investigation, but it is still being led by police. This is an ongoing investigation, we cannot add anything further at this stage.”

It was reported three people were taken to hospital after the incident.

There were no fatalities.
