A total of £10,000 has been donated through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity to two local causes to support those in the area heavily affected by the recent flooding.
Following the devastating floods that hit the upper Calder Valley on Boxing Day, the Oasis Nisa Local in Hebden Bridge supported their local community with a donation of £2,500.
The store, on Carlton Street, made the donation to the Rotary Club of Hebden Bridge to provide much needed support for flood victims in the area. The Rotary Club has been working to help those affected by the flooding, including purchasing ten industrial quality dehumidifiers which have been distributed to those in most need.
Oasis’s donation was raised and donated through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity project, from customers purchasing items from the own-label Heritage range and a number of branded products in store. A percentage of the sale cost of these then goes into a virtual fund to be donated to local good causes of the store owners’ choice. Oasis- itself flooded but managing to open soon aftrer - donated the entirety of its Making a Difference Locally fund.
Additionally, the area will also benefit from further support from the Making a Difference Locally board, who donated £7,500 from their national fund to the Community Foundation for Calderdale for the Flood Relief Fund.
