Chance to sign up for the NSPCC Tour of Yorkshire

The two-day event will take in some of Yorkshire’s most beautiful countryside, and include closed road sections, timed hill climbs of Boltby Bank and Hanging Grimston, plus optional racing at the fantastic new circuit at York.

Supported by British Cycling and organised by leading cycling events company Ride2Raise, the NSPCC Tour of Yorkshire offers the professional cycling experience for amateurs, with a dedicated team supporting riders all the way.

Riders will benefit from a comprehensive pre-event programme of training rides and coaching sessions which will incorporate assessment to allow them to be grouped by ability for the tours. They’ll also receive a free high quality tour jersey as well as energy bars, gels, recovery drinks and other goodies.

Organiser Richard King, of Ride2Raise, said: “This is a premium event with a completely unique format within the UK sportive scene – and customisable entry means riders can choose whether they race or ride, and whether they self-fund or fundraise. However they do it, this is a tough, iconic ride requiring grit, determination and training. But if participants are up for the challenge, we’ll give them the ultimate pro-rider experience.”

Riders who commit to raising £500 for the NSPCC will pay a registration fee of just £49 and will be guaranteed a free place at the Yellow Jersey Dinner with presentations and special guest speakers.

Alternatively, riders can register without a minimum sponsorship commitment for a fee of £169 per individual (£229 including the Yellow Jersey Dinner), and those who raise over £200 for the NSPCC will receive a free commemorative NSPCC Tour of England jersey.

Funds raised from the event will help the NSPCC to protect vulnerable children through its projects and services including ChildLine – the UK’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline and online service for children and young people.

The NSPCC Tour of Yorkshire is one of two rides that make up the Tour of England Series, with an earlier event ‘Tour of the South East’ taking place on June 7-8 2014. This two-day event sets off from Cyclopark in Gravesend, Kent, and travels though East and West Sussex finally reaching Guildford.
