Firefighters were called to School Street in Greetland at 12.12pm today (March 30)

The West Yorkshre Fire and Rescue Service control centre received a call of a domestic property fire.

Appliances from Halifax Rastrick and Fairweather Green were then mobilised to deal with the incident

A spokesperson for WYFRS said: "On arrival, crews found a chip pan to be involved in the fire, and used two breathing appratus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire and a high powered fan to get rid of the remainder of the smoke from the property.

"No persons were involved. Smoke detectors were fitted and working at the time of the incident."
