KATE Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge is wearing it.

Its design is inspired by Brit winning pop star Ed Sheeran.

And it’s available right here in Hebden Bridge.

The Duchess of Cambridge sent stylewatchers into orbit this week when she appeared with a Smarties bracelet from the Ed Sheeran Handmade Jewellery range.

The jewellery is made by former Hebden Bridge designer Imogen Sheeran, mother of the multi-award-winning musician.

And Earth Spirit in Market Street is one of only a few retail outlets in the country to stock the Handmade Jewellery range.

Catrina Gledhill, manager of Earth Spirit, said: “Ed grew up in Hebden Bridge so it’s great that Ed’s talented mum, Imogen, has chosen to supply a local business. Many of the items from the collection are based on his favourite sweets, such as liquorice allsorts and Smarties or on Ed’s song lyrics.”

Catrina said the designs have proved popular with a host of celebrities, including T4’s Jameela Jamil - who tweeted that she was ‘obsessed with them’, singer Jessie J and Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, who can be seen wearing one of Imogen’s designs in Ed’s recent Lego House music video.

“The shop received its first delivery last week and after excited customers started tweeting the news items were sold out in the first two days. We have ordered plenty of new stock,” she said.

“We are expecting sales to rocket after Kate Middleton was seen wearing one of Imogen’s Smarties bracelets when she gave her first public speech at the Treehouse Hospice in Ipswich last week.”

The collection includes bracelets, rings, earrings and accessories and it has had the backing of Ed who tweeted “Big up Kate Middleton who is wearing some of my mum’s home made jewellery”.

As well as stocking Ed’s fun and funky range the shop is also selling some of Imogen’s designs, created using paper beads made by a Fairtrade women’s co-operative in Uganda and Fairtrade pure wool beads. Prices range from £5 to £35.

The first 50 people who “like” Earth Spirit on Facebook will be entered into a draw to win one of Ed Sheeran’s festival bracelets.
