MORE than 190 hanging baskets have brought a burst of colour to Hebden Royd.
The blooms are on display thanks to a partnership between Hebden Royd Town Council, Calderdale Council, Upper Calder Valley Rennaissance and Hebden Royd retailers.
Jason Boom, town council environmental community warden, said lots of planning and preparation meant the baskets will look superb all summer.
“The new planing in the parks and the public realm of Hebden Royd is maturing well and has been respected by the people using these spaces,” he said.
“Further plans for 2008 are already in place and these, in addition to those already in place, should ensure quality floral displays for years to come.”
Displays are also set to bloom at the White Swan in Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd Station Partnership, who are both entering Yorkshire in Bloom for the first time.
“This will enable us to show Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge to the judges for the first time in a number of years,” added Jason.
“Hebden Royd Town Council would love to see the formation of 'bloom' groups for Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale and would be only too glad to work with people who may be interested.”
