Five Beaver Scouts from the 18th Hebden Bridge Beaver Colony have been presented with the highest award that can be achieved by the youngest section of the scouting movement.
Theo Bradley, Noah Chisholm, Morgan Harrison, Freddie Priestley and Calum Wade all received the chief scout’s Bronze Award, the first in a series of special awards which scouting members can work towards as they progress through beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers and the scout network.
To achieve the award, beavers are required to complete six challenge badges, which teach them about friendship, creativity, personal fitness, global issues, scouting values and the great outdoors.
Also at the ceremony, which took place in the shadow of Stoodley Pike at the colony’s end-of-term celebration, four new beavers made their promise to live the scouting values and were invested as members of the worldwide family of scouts.
The 18th Hebden Bridge Beavers meet on Wednesday evenings, during term time, at Hebden Bridge Methodist Church. To find out more, contact Claire on 07779 590707 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
